I was out on the hillside, alone and afraid
I was cold, clad in garments all threadbare and frayed.
Then Jesus came softly, all dressed in pure white,
His garment all shining and glistening bright.
He tenderly raised me, and what do you know!
He gave me His garment, His eyes all aglow.
No cold wind could reach through its tightness of weave.
I was warmed with more comfort than I could believe.
I glanced up to thank Him, and to my dismay,
His robe was now threadbare, and rotting away.
But it seemed so familiar, each seam and each line,
And I knew as He stood there, that garment was mine.
In II Cor. 5:21 we read “God made Him, who had no sin, to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.” and in Isaiah 61:10, “I delight greatly in the Lord; my soul rejoices in my God. For He has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness.” and it is so!!!!
