Hi!  This is Edith’s daughter, June.  I am setting up a blog for my mom, because she has so many encouraging and challenging things to say and I feel like so many people could be blessed by her words.  Mom has been walking with the Lord for 86 years and has a rich reservoir of spiritual undertanding to share with us.  I have asked her to start posting the kinds of things she calls me on the phone to share from God’s Word, or devotional thoughts that she writes.  Hope you enjoy it!  Feel free to leave comments.

  1. Living waters! Thank you so much for sharing with us. Tonight I found your video on your prayer journal and am inspired to begin one as well. I’ve been wanting to set one up for awhile now but I wasn’t quite sure how to go about it. Now I believe I know what to do! Thanks!
My grandmother was a prayer warrior in her later years. She was bedridden and pretty much blind from Glaucoma so she used her fingers for her daily prayers. Each finger represented someone or a group of people. We are Native American Indian and she used to pray for the young people on our reservation daily…I’m not sure what finger they were-but they were never forgotten each day. Now 15 years later and located in another state I am reminded of her testimony of a faithful Heavenly Father who hears our prayers! Thank you so much for preparing these musings for us-I am so grateful! May God richly bless you for the sacrifice you make to prepare these inspiring musings! 🙂

  2. Thank you for sharing your prayer journal! I find myself easily sidetracked at times while praying, and this is an excellent way to keep up with my prayer requests and to note how God answers prayer. Miss Edith, thank you and your daughter June, for sharing your thoughts and spiritual insights!

  3. Thank you so much for sharing your prayer journal and the many words of God’s wisdom that you have been sharing! I just found this blog today, through YouTube. I didn’t even know what I was looking for, but God did! We often hear people say, after trying to solve a problem under their own power, that “all they can do is pray.” God is the One who supplies all our needs, is our Help in good times and bad. It is a privilege to be able to speak with the Creator of the universe at any and all times! We do not need an appointment, we do not need to be in a church. We do not need to pray a pre-written prayer. We have His attention 24/7 and He listens to us, always. Your prayer journal is a wonderful example of how to keep up with our prayer life, and actually see how God answers our prayers. Thank you, and your daughter for sharing with us.

  4. Dear Edith, I saw your video where you shared your prayer habits with us. Thank you for sharing with us – it is of great value. If the Lord wills I hope you continue to help us in our journey. I already love you.

  5. Dear Edith, A friend posted your video on prayer recently on Facebook, and it was just the boost I needed. I have had a vibrant prayer life in the past but the past year saw a steep decline in that precious time with the Lord as I took on a load of courses alongside an already busy home and business life. I needed a boost to get me back on track; “re-organize prayer journal” was on my list of things to do this week! Thank you so much for your insights and kind, wise words. As a middle-aged woman, I find that others often come to me for words of wisdom, but there is no one to whom I can go – an older, wiser, more mature in Christ sister – so thank you for your little ministry of encouragement here on this blog. “Encourage one another and build each other up” might just be the most important job in the Body of Christ; keep up the good work. and thank you again.

    1. Dear Lorraine, I’m so happy that my blog was helpful in your ministry! Your response was so encouraging to me because at the age of 93 it is amazing to me that God is still using me as a co-laborer in what He desires to be doing. There is so much at this point that I’m unable to do any more, and yet God is still at work. Isn’t He amazing!!!!! May He bless you each day as He guides your steps. Edith

  8. Dear Edith and June, thank you so much for the blessing you are to us! Such beautiful lessons you teach us. I watched the videos about prayer and it touched me deeply. Your lessons enrich my prayer life and I am more determined now to spend more time and more meaningful time in prayer. God bless you. ~ Wen, all the way from the Netherlands

    1. Is your sweet Mom still doing this blog? I knew I hadn’t seen them in my email for quite some time. May God bless you and your family!

  9. Thank you. I have been exercised since the New Year about setting up a more organized prayer journal. I found a video 2 weeks ago similar to yours. This week I have been working at it and trying to tweak it so I’m praying in an effective way. Tonight I found yours . it was a blessing to me watching it and listening to you. The paper clips gave me the idea I needed to manage the sections I can’t pray for each name daily. That was where I was stalled at. I felt blessed by your prayer. Thank you . Hazel Leger
